Shipping, Returns & Fraud Prevention Policy

At Vancity CJ Trading Cards, we take great care in packaging all orders. Every item is inspected and confirmed to be in the stated condition prior to shipment.

Shipping Policy

Once an order has been handed over to the shipping carrier and tracking information has been provided, responsibility for the package transfers to the carrier and the recipient. We are not responsible for any loss, theft, damage, delay, misdelivery, or other issues that occur during or after transit, including but not limited to:

  • Damage caused by shipping carriers or handling during transit
  • Lost, delayed, or misrouted packages
  • Packages marked as delivered but not received
  • Theft of packages after delivery
  • Weather-related damage or delays
  • Customs inspections, duties, taxes, or border-related delays
  • Incorrect shipping information or addresses provided by the customer
  • Damage to outer packaging, shipping boxes, or other protective materials during transit
  • Damage resulting from improper handling after delivery
  • Delivery delays caused by carrier backlogs, labor disruptions, natural disasters, or other events beyond our control

While we are not responsible for issues that occur during or after transit, we are happy to assist customers with filing claims, investigations, or service requests with the shipping carrier whenever possible. This may include providing proof of shipment, shipping receipts, tracking information, photos of packaging prior to shipment, or other relevant documentation available to us.

Please note that any claim decision, reimbursement, or compensation is determined solely by the shipping carrier and/or insurance provider. Vancity CJ Trading Cards cannot guarantee the outcome of any claim or investigation.

We strongly recommend that customers inspect their package immediately upon arrival and record a continuous, unedited unboxing video when opening their order. Such documentation may be required when investigating shipping-related issues, missing contents claims, or transit damage claims.

Shipping Insurance

Unless otherwise specified, all shipments are covered only by the default insurance coverage provided by the selected shipping carrier. In most cases, this coverage is limited to approximately CAD $100, though actual coverage amounts may vary depending on the carrier and service selected.

Customers purchasing high-value items are strongly encouraged to request additional shipping insurance prior to shipment. Additional insurance coverage is available at the customer’s expense and must be arranged before the order is shipped.

If you would like to purchase additional insurance coverage for your order, please contact us before placing your order or before your order is shipped. Once an order has been shipped, insurance coverage cannot be modified or increased.

Vancity CJ Trading Cards is not responsible for any portion of loss or damage that exceeds the insurance coverage selected by the customer at the time of shipment.

Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

All Pokémon-related products are final sale and are not eligible for returns, refunds, exchanges, cancellations, or store credit except where required by applicable law.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Sealed products
  • Booster packs
  • Booster boxes
  • Elite Trainer Boxes (ETBs)
  • Collection boxes
  • Single cards
  • Graded cards
  • Pokémon accessories
  • Promotional items
  • Mystery products
  • Pre-orders
  • Special order items

Due to the collectible and randomized nature of trading card products, we cannot accept returns based on pack contents, pull rates, product allocation, market value fluctuations, grading outcomes, manufacturing variances, or buyer’s remorse.

SlabMag products may be considered for return or exchange on a case-by-case basis and solely at the discretion of Vancity CJ Trading Cards.

In-Store Pickup & Fraud Prevention

To protect our customers, our business, and the trading card community from fraud, all online orders selected for in-store pickup require valid government-issued photo identification at the time of pickup.

The name on the identification must match the name on the order and, where applicable, the payment method used.

As part of our fraud prevention procedures, customers acknowledge and consent to Vancity CJ Trading Cards photographing and retaining a copy of the identification presented at pickup for verification, security, record-keeping, chargeback prevention, and fraud investigation purposes.

For high-value orders, Vancity CJ Trading Cards reserves the right to require additional identity verification before an order is processed, fulfilled, or released. Customers may be required to contact us directly and provide supporting documentation or information to verify ownership of the payment method and billing details before the order is approved.

Failure to provide requested identification or verification may result in the order being delayed, held, cancelled, or refunded at our sole discretion.

Vancity CJ Trading Cards reserves the right to refuse, delay, hold, cancel, or refund any order that appears suspicious or is believed to involve:

  • Fraudulent activity
  • Unauthorized payment methods
  • Chargeback abuse
  • Identity theft
  • Reshipping services
  • Third-party purchasing schemes
  • Any other transaction that presents an elevated risk to our business or customers

Privacy & Security

We take the protection of personal information seriously.

Any identification or verification information collected by Vancity CJ Trading Cards will be stored securely and accessed only by authorized personnel for legitimate business purposes, including fraud prevention, order verification, chargeback defense, payment disputes, and related investigations.

Customer information will never be sold, rented, or voluntarily disclosed to third parties. Information may only be shared when required by law or when reasonably necessary for:

  • Law enforcement requests
  • Court orders
  • Payment processor investigations
  • Carrier investigations
  • Insurance claims
  • Fraud investigations
  • Other legally required compliance matters

We maintain reasonable safeguards to protect customer information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or misuse.

Acceptance of Policy

By placing an order with Vancity CJ Trading Cards, whether online or for in-store pickup, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms outlined in this Shipping, Returns & Fraud Prevention Policy.

We reserve the right to update or modify this policy at any time without prior notice.
